Humphreys County Jury Renders Verdict
- Power107 @ 10:07 am CST
A Humphreys County jury found 48 year old Wemore Cosby of Louise, MS guilty of Capital Murder and Kidnapping yesterday. Cosby was arrested and charged on February 6, 2009 following the murder and kidnapping of his estranged wife, Vickie Edwards and the kidnapping of Yolanda Liddell. The crimes occurred on February 6, 2009 at Bannerman Apartments in Belzoni, MS where both Ms Edwards and Mrs. Liddell, who were employed by a home health agency, were attending a patient. Following the verdict, Circuit Judge Janie Lewis sentenced Cosby to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder and kidnapping of his estranged wife, plus an additional 30 years for the kidnapping of Yolanda Liddell. Humphreys County Sheriff J.D. Roseman said, "while nothing can bring back the victim in this case, or totally wipe away the trauma from Mrs. Liddell's memory, justice was done today, and I hope this gives all the families involved in this terrible crime a sense of closure."
