Funeral Services for David Michael Spiars, age 38, of Yazoo City, MS, who passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at King's Daughters Hospital, will be Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Stricklin King Chapel at 11am.  Visitation will be Friday, March 5, 2010 from 5-7pm at Stricklin King Chapel.  Rev. Box 600, Yazoo City, MS  39194.  David Michael Spiars, was a Methodist, a Releif Operator at Terra Chemical Company, and an avid hunter.  David Michael Spiars is survived by his wife, Heather Spiars, Son, Patrick Spiars, his parents, Pete and Patsy Spiars, and two sisters, Cindy Spiars of Madison and Kim Eakin of Yazoo City.

Corine Powell, age 80 of Ridgeland, MS, who passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS, will be Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 11am at Stricklin King Chapel.  Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.  Rev. Funeral Services for Dorris Oline Luby, age 84 of Yazoo City, MS, who passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at King's Daughters Hospital, will be Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 11am at Stricklin King Chapel.  Burial will be in the Midway Cemetery.  Rev. Funeral Services for Ray Neal Daniel, age 89 of Bentonia, MS, who passed away on February 21, 2010, will be Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 11am at Mt. Funeral Services for Gloria Joyce Guthrie, age 80, a Belzoni, MS native who passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at home, will be Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 1pm at First Baptist Church in Belzoni with burial in the Lakewood Memorial Cemetery on Clinton Boulevard in Jackson.  A Graveside Service will be at 3:30pm at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 12 Noon at First Baptist Church prior to the funeral at 1pm.   Joyce Guthrie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Herb Guthrie, one daughter, Vickie Mechatto of Clinton, 2 sons, Rod Guthrie of Hattiesburg, MS, and Danny Guthrie of Belzoni, MS.

Funeral Services for Ronald Richard "Ronnie" Mott, age 51 of Yazoo City, MS, who passed away on February 16, 2010 at the Oasis Health and Rehab Center in Yazoo City, will be Friday, February 19,2010 at 3pm.  Rev. Funeral Services for Joseph Leo Buford, age 79 of Yazoo City, MS who passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, will be Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 2pm at Stricklin King Funeral Home.  Rev. Funeral Services for Barbara Ann Nelson, age 67 of Sumrall, MS, who passed away on Friday, January 15, 2010 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, MS, will be Monday, January 18, 2010 at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, with burial in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Yazoo County.  Rev. Funeral Services for Freida Holaday King, age 95 of Louise, MS, who passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at her residence in Louise, will be Monday, January 11, 2010 at 2pm at Louise United Methodist Church.  Rev. A Memorial Service for Corinne McGinty Haynes, age 95, who passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, will be Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 11am at Stricklin King Chapel, with Burial in the Glenwood Cemetery.  Rev. George Woodliff will conduct the Memorial Service.  Corinne McGinty Haynes was the widow of Captain Aubrey Devere Haynes, long time resident of Vicksburg, MS, where she retired from Social Security Administration and a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.  Visitation will be held at Stricklin King Funeral Home in Yazoo City, December 8, 2009 at 10am prior to the funeral at 11am.   Stricklin King Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A Memorial Service for Helen Gregory, age 74 of Yazoo City, MS, who passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at St. Dominic Health Services in Jackson, will be Sunday, December 6, 2009, at 2pm.   Visitation will be Sunday, 1-2pm prior to the funeral at Stricklin King Chapel.    A cremation service will be held at a later date.   Stricklin King Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Brian Campbell, age 36 of Vaughan, MS who passed away on December 1, 2009 at St. Dominic Health Services in Jackson,  will be Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Ellison United Methodist Church, with burial in the Ellison Cemetery.  Rev. Grady Bailey and Rev. Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Ollie Tahir, age 98 of New Orleans, LA, who passed away on November 29, 2009 will be Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11am at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood, MS.  Mary Ollie Tahir was born in Greenwood, MS and gradtuated from Greenwood High School in 1929.  She married Mahmoud (Abe) Tahir of Tchula and they operated M.Tahir Grocery and Meat Market for many years.  In 1995, she moved to New Orleans, where she currently resided.   Mrs. Tahir was noted for her cooking ability, especially Southern and Middle Eastern foods, which she enjoyed sharing with neighbors.   For many years she was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Mississippi.  Her soft Southern Drawl belied a gregarious, inquisitive spirit.  She is survived by a son, Abe M. Tahir, Jr. and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Tahir, both of New Orleans, La., and five nieces and nephews.   Memorials may be sent to two of her favorite charities:  Cenacle Retreat House in New Orleans, 5500 St. Mary Street, Metarie, LA  70006 (504-887-1420) or St. Joseph Indian School, Chamberlain, South Dakota 57326.   Stricklin King Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Services for Alta Maye Martin, age 93 of Yazoo City, who passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009, will be Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at 1pm at 1st Baptist Church in Sartartia, MS.  Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Rev. Alan Winters and Rev. Danny Duggan will officiate.  Visitation will be Tuesday, November 24, 2009, from 12 - 1pm at 1st Baptist Church in Sartartia, MS.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 1st Baptist Church of Sartartia.  Stricklin King Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Roberts, "Papa Jim", age 88 of Yazoo City, MS, who passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the State Veterans Home, will be Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11am at Stricklin King Funeral Home.   Rev. Bill Poole will officiate.  Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, November 13, 2009 at Stricklin King Chapel.  James A Roberts, was a member of First United Methodist Church, Retired BF Goodrich, Sales, and an Army-Airforce Veteran.  Mr. Roberts served in Italy as a part of the 746th Bombardment Squadron.   Stricklin King Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ellison, age 59 of Tinsley, MS, who passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at St. Dominics Hospital, will be Friday, November 13, 2009 at 11am at Stricklin King Funeral Home.  Rev.
